Yesterday, I heard my not yet 6 year old son emphatically tell me:
“I am not going to get married – not to a girl, not to a boy, not to an old woman. No. I am not. Ok?”
Ok, my boy. Whatever you want.
A little later, a request to make him put his shoes on before setting foot outside the door got his dad the comment: “whatever!” And I thought I had to wait at least till he hit 10 before hearing a “whatever!”. Is 6 like the new 10 / teenage now?

i think so… my 2 year old gives me attitude.. thank your lucky stars!
Jeez! Fricking unfair, I call this. We wait till we become mums to boss kids and hubbies around and mere seconds after they pop out, they are giving us attitude. When the hell will it be our turn, I’d like to know!
hahah…very true..when will we get our turn!..my 6 yr old too is now a teenager!..
nice place you have here..just going thr all…very interesting!
Thank you kindly!
You can be a bitchy mom-in-law DG
Trust you to come up with a bright side, Ams!
Hmm, tempting but I think the MM will come down on me like a ton of bricks if I torture her Beanie, don’t you?
forget MM, I’LL come torture you if you’re mean to beanie! grrr.
Whoa! Weren’t you the one urging me to be a Monster-in-law?! Make your mind up, woman!! Jeez!! :p
Very true, DG. My 7-year-old and I are constantly bickering over her hairstyle — one kudumi or two kudumies. And she says “It’s MY hair ma, what’s your problem?”
Jeez! That’s to the point!! Why the hell didn’t we learn such pearls of wisdom? Possibly cos it would have got us a tight slap? hmm
