Meet Cruz Beckham,3, youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham. He wore this outfit to his older brother’s birthday party and ended up upstaging everyone assembled, got his pix splashed on the front page of the glossies, and gave a 50% boost to the sale of such outfits. Impressive, eh?
Did I forget to mention that other guests to this 9th birthday party were Heidi Klum and Eva Longoria. Now, I needn’t say anything about the need for normalcy in a child’s life and how the parent’s blatant greed for publicity …

The Mad Momma asked: “Is there any quality more cherishable in a man than gentleness?”
While most of her loyal legion said “of course not”, I wonder what else is there that makes the list.
1. Chivalry: What happened to good old fashioned chivalry? When men opened doors for you, said “after you”? I think they are using feminism as an excuse to behave like yobs. For the record, we like being our own women, yes but it doesn’t mean we wouldn’t appreciate it if the menfolk did stuff like opening …

After my half-assed attempts to write random words in the midst of all the studying, I decided to take a peek at Blogstats and was pleasantly surprised. I’d thought it will read like the heart monitor of a mortuary resident. Instead, I have been clocking some serious miles – esp the day before yesterday when an inordinate number of people where interested in what I say.
Smelling something fishy, I dug a bit and the bulb went off – that was the day the lovely MM gave me the Blogging …

Buried though I am, under masses of coursework and exam material, I still find to keep up with what my bloggy pals are upto – and do a random web trawl, while I am at it. And it was during one such sojourn that I came across this, admittedly old, article on Google. Made for a fascinating read (well, anything is fascinating when all you see around you is Interaction Design and sampling and pilot studies) – and I thought, being the kind, generous soul that I am, I shall …

This post is special – really, really special.
Why? Not because it is a milestone related to my blog – number of days it has been in existence, number of posts etc. It is special ‘cos it is the first one that is being done from my brand new laptop.
My very own MacBook!
I still cannot believe it! I keep re-reading the above statement but it still feels a bit surreal. I have been glued to the thing since we brought it home earlier this afternoon. My own laptop, my very own. …

Who am I? This is a question I have often posed myself since I could formulate those words. Not because I had amnesia like Jackie Chan in that god-awful flick but when I was old enough to differentiate between dialects and accents, I figured the dad’s side of the family in the Village spoke totally differently to us folks in Madras. And this was before taking Madras baashai into account.
One of my earliest memories of visiting the paternal relatives in the Village was sitting down for lunch with …

Lavs of Myownpenseive tagged me with a Middle Name Tag. I am not sure how I am to go about it as I do not have one – a middle name, that is. So I shall take a leaf out of MM’s and go with expanding my blogging handle, DesiGirl.
D – Desi. 100%
E – Enthu; in some cases, OE or Over Enthu
S – Sarky; one of my closest friends once said ‘you are one of the sarkiest bitches I have ever known and if I can get past you, then …

… or so Amrita says. Why she had to convert a perfectly sane (for her!) post to a tag is a question that may never get an answer. Oh well. Never shall it be writ that I shied away from a challenge!
1. How do you feel after a one night stand?
Rather depends on the bloke, that one, doesn’t it? (now, that isn’t something you’d expect from a shaadi-shudh woman, would u?)
2. Do you ever get used to wearing a thong?
Nope. But as they say, no pain, no gain!
3. Does it …

I had picked up P from school last evening and we were both walking slowly down the roads. When we neared the station, an older boy on a cycle and a girl on foot rushed past us. That was when I saw her. The girl. And what she was wearing.
Well, it was one of those ‘blink and you miss it’ type outfits. As it was kind of warm out, she had taken her jacket off and as a result, all I could see of her from behind were here black …

I had done a post a while back about the art of gifting. After reading a series of posts on good gifts and bad ones, I am tempted to write once more on this subject. Like the writer of one of the posts I read states, giving a bad gift is as good as insulting them. Why bother getting something crappy and foisting it on some poor unsuspecting folk when you don’t really give a shit?
Last year, P got gifted this rather beautiful richly worked pyjama-kurta for his birthday by …
